I started ‘going natural’ in 2007 and began paying attention to what I was using on my skin. Having a very sensitive skin all of my life, I needed something effective that did not contain potentially harmful additives.
During my stay in England, I have been able to absorb a vast knowledge regarding natural skincare products and learn the art of making natural handcrafted soaps and wellness products as a part-time hobby while studying Accountancy and Financial Management in University of Portsmouth. I started using handmade skincare products ever since I can remember. Sadly, I could not find the same quality of skincare essentials in Sri Lanka as I learned that some brands that labeled their products as ‘natural’ included harmful and synthetic ingredients. This is when I decided to make my own and from there Jade was born in 2016, a hobby that turned into a successful business.
I graduated from University of Portsmouth, England in BA Accountancy and Financial Management as well as University of Cardiff, Wales in Msc Finance & Economics and Cardiff Metropolitan University in MBA in Business Administration and reading for the Doctorate in Business Administration.
In the meanwhile I spent years researching ingredients sourced from nature and proven by science and their effects on various skin types. The practice and knowledge I gained in the UK was beneficial in formulating a line of nutrient rich luxury skincare that smelled as amazing as it performed and was able to break all the rules and prove that natural skincare products can be effective and trendy.
After years of meticulous research, hard work and trial and error, I couldn’t be more excited or proud to own a successful business producing a product that was good, healthy, cruelty-free, vegetarian and a true benefit to people in the way that I always envisioned it.
